Her 85 foot length makes this is the larger of the two ships that visited Pittsburgh, PA last year.
Imagine sailing west from Spain aboard this.

You would think that, while in the 'burgh, they would hoist the Jolly Roger...I'm just sayin'

Does it have auxiliary power, or was it towed?

The tour doesn't allow anyone below deck, so I saw no evidence of modern propulsion.
The USCG forced a few concessions for safety's sake, but the crew insists they sail these ships wherever they go.
Wind...damn.

No way in hell I'd sail toward the edge of the world on this little thing.
The ship is, I'm told, a near perfect replica of the ship that made the 1492 crossing, which leads me to believe that while the ship's built of wood, the crew was made of sterner stuff than people are these days.

Seriously, I'm not crossing the Atlantic in anything less than a Reagan-class carrier.

My Brother in Law could trace his family back to the Mayflower?

Some people find my opinion of the Mayflower offensive.

My rules are simple.
You can post anything you want, say what you like, call me anything but late for dinner, but I will not tolerate posting then blocking.
I insist on the right to respond to what is posted.
I will not duck the fight, and anyone who posts a comment should be ready to defend it or shut the fuck up.
