To celebrate the 12th anniversary of Ninja Bear Press,
I'd like to present a challenge to the digital artists of the Epic Starships group:
Of all the ships I've ever built, this is without a doubt my favorite because it didn't come from a kit, it came out of the scrap bin by the sheer force of my imagination.
This is a Series 4, commercial towing and pod transport vessel, built by Loadstar Shipyards.
Sometimes referred to as a "railback" because the ship is actually just the forward block, housing the crew compartments and main navigational deflector, connected by a dorsal spine to the stern, stardrive block.
The railback is designed to transport centerline pods, which are interchangeable and customized to be mission specific (cargo, passenger, gunship, or colony pod dropped from orbit).
Yes, it's wood.
No, there's not a lot of detail wood-burned in, because this is really more than my imagination requires; but I'd love to see what the talented artists of dA can make of her.
Ask any questions in the comments and yes, there is a prize just for participating, but I'm not worried about running short because you'll need to send a snail-mail address by dA note to claim your free book.
